DC45 - Christmas 2011 Digital Layout

I told you I wanted to get better at Scrapbooking - so tell me what you think of my Christmas Layout for a Digital Challenge at Soul Scrappers - Had to be Non Traditional Christmas colours, and monochrome....yay for me!!, now that's a challenge, given I have only ever made two Digital pages using Photoshop and that was months and months ago........I know, it sounds like I am making excuses, BUT I think you will be surprised at the end result..........

We had Christmas lunch in Ipswich at my MIL's. It was great that Rob's eldest brother and family were able to come down from Bundy and share the day. Hehehe, I though my kids had grown !!!!

I am absolutely thrilled with it. I do look forward to having a go at some more, but for me, I still think the traditional way is my way as I like something I can sit down with over a cuppa and remember to speak.

SQSC # 19 and Sneak Peek ....Shhhhh!

Another Challenge on Stampin Queens - thought I would use a couple of the Sale-A-Bration (SAB) items to sneak peek for you.....shhhhhhhh!

Here's the sketch:

Here's my card:

  • Stamp Set : Elementary Elegance (SAB)
  • Ink: Tempting Turquoise
  • Papers: Lucky Limeade, Whisper White, Everyday Enchantment (SAB)
  • Punches: Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer, Blossom Petals Builder
  • Others: 5/8 Organza Ribbon Whisper White, In Color Printed Designer Brads
I wasn't really sure of the sentiment, so decided to keep the blossom theme and create the petals and stamped off the Hello stamp three times (only inked up once) to give the fading look.
I used the DSP on the flowers to give a different look to the card.

Don't forget Sale-A-Bration starts 24th January - you will love the new sets and accessories this year - definately mark your calander to check the site and have your wish list at the ready!

Medallion Vase Embossing

In the spirit of branching out in the craft world, I had a go at Embossing on a glass vase, and I must say I am not totally happy, but it is my first go and as such am very happy with it overall.

And as a lolly jar for New Years !!!!!

I have used a Non SU Embossing powder - I think you all know why !!!!
It's called Fuchsia Tinsel and I love it as it has the glitter through it and looks way better in Real Life.

SSIC DEC 2011 - Butterfly Love Canvas

Christmas being the time to reflect, I am spending some time reflecting on the year about to come to an end and in terms of crafting, what I would like to do next year.

Happy to say still more of the same, but more Scrapbooking !!!
2012 is the year I learn to do better pages and really discover my inner talents with regards to story telling......should make for an interesting year.

To help me do this, I have joined a wonderful group called Soul Scrappers.
Within this group, I joined  the Soul Scrappers Inspiration Club and you will get to see my monthly projects that I have been inspired to make !!!!

How cool is that - no excuses now !!!!!

With that in mind - here is my December project that I absolutely love, however it's a canvas not a scrap page.

a close up of the glimmer paper under this one

  • Stamp Set: Butterfly Prints, Creative Elements, Strength & Hope
  • Ink: More Mustard, Night of Navy, Elegant Eggplant, Jet Black Staz On
  • Papers: More Mustard, Night of Navy, Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Sliver Glimmer
  • Dies: Beautiful Wings
  • Punches: Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border, 5-Petal Flower, Butterfly
  • Others: Brights Glimmer Brads, Basic Jewels Pearls, Basic Jewels Rhinestones, White Gel Pen,
  • Non SU: White Florist Wire, Canvas, Acrylic paint
It's only a small canvas - 10" x 4" but makes a lovely statement and I enjoyed making it.

Card gifts!!!!!

Imagine my surprise this afternoon when I got this Christmas card and gifts in the mail........I knew the card was on the way as a certain person had said yes send a card, BUT no gifts.....hehehe I guess she never heard herself say that!
Anyway I shall show you the lovely gifts from Theresa.....

Gorgeous Christmas Card - love the embossing.
Awesome Seed Packet with seeds.....hehehe I have a brown thumb!
and a cute as little frame!

And how awesome is this interlocking card - I don't know the name of it, but I loveeeee it!
and yes I even managed to fold it back with the right letters showing.....
Theresa had put a DVD inside for me to watch over the holidays....yay, me, chocolate, wine and DVD.

Now, you all know what this means hey.....hehehehe......stay tuned!

Christmas Bottle Neck Tags

There is always someone that turns up or gives you a present out of the blue at this time of the year.

Here is a Bottle Neck Tag I made for a few of my special ladies and would make a great tag to have in the studio ready to pop on a bottle of wine / shower gel / etc so you are always prepared.....of course you would also need a stash of wine, etc.......or as I have done, place on some bottles of Pink Lemonade !!!!

  • Stamp Set: Beautiful Season, Tiny Tags
  • Ink: Cherry Cobbler
  • Papers: Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White
  • Dies: Two Tags
  • Punches: Jewelry Tag
  • Others: Linen Thread
Certainly makes a nice touch, and much nicer I think to just having wrapping paper around it.

I ran out of time to do the challenge last week, but have found a bit of time this weekend to do this weeks....
Even though the sketch is a bit Christmassy, I kept the flakes, but went for a less Christmas look, even though you could use it as a Christmas card as well......

Have I got your interest now ????
Those that know me well, know I talk in riddles at times.....LOL....

Here is this weeks sketch:

And here is my card:

  • Stamp Set: Under The Big Top
  • Ink: Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Blush Blossom Marker
  • Papers: Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, Beyond The Garden DSP
  • Dies: Merry Details Sizzlits
  • Others: Basic Jewel Pearls, Blender Pen, Bone Folder
It's hard to tell, but if you look at the DSP really closely....I have scored a line 1/4" on all sides to give another dimension to the card.....yes I did say you had to look really closely...hehehe, you know I reckon I'd have to tell you in real life too!!!!

"Cocoa" The Pup's Christmas Cup

When I saw Meg Loven's Holiday Helper project entitled "Cocoa" The Pup's Christmas Cup, I just knew it was the perfect gift to make my co-workers.
I mean, what else do you give 5 men !!!!!
Don't you just love some of the helpful comments you get from then just to help you maybe improve it next time.....LOL....ok, so apart from putting the jingle in the wrong place, everyone loved them.

Meg has these around a take away coffee cup but I couldn't find them at the moment, so I improvised and used a 450ml party cup and then used my Circle Scissors Plus to cut out a 3 1/2" circle and with the help of a ring of Multi adhesive glue, a sealed lid was in place. I did put a Cherry Cobbler stamp - "A Christmas Greeting with something for Eating" on the lid (sorry pic looked abit ordinary).

Now I know they have the jingle thingy's in the USA but not here - however I did come across mine in one of my local cheap shops and they really add to the Christmas feel.
Maybe next year we will see them in our Catalogue.

Special Christmas Gift

Imagine my suprised when I delivered an order yesterday and was handed this wonderful handmade gift box from my customer Jan .......

And then when I got home and opened it, look what Jan had made me.....

How thoughtful and such a nice gift...... Jan even gave me the easel to showcase it on.

I already knew Jan to be an avid awesome Scrapbooker, but this book page (sorry, not sure what to call it - except beautiful) is something else and takes it to another level.
You really need to see it in person to appreciate that work and how stunning the pearlised papers she has used just makes it stunning.
Kinda made my little Rudolph Two Tags Treat seem abit ordinary....LOL....maybe Santa will have an extra something in the next delivery........

Thanks for looking and I hope someone makes you feel loved and appreciated too.

Until next time, Happy Crafting....YCB

USWDAF Friend to Friend Swap Gift

OMG I was certainly spoilt this round of USWDAF Friend to Friend Swap - My partner this round was Jackie, who is also a Crafters Anonymous Members as really is a small world after all...hehehe

You are so going to have to join in on the next round, and who knows, maybe you will get Jackie as your partner!!!

How cute is the Santa Pyramid Fold card and the Butterfly mini note pad....

First ornament is the star foldout which I must say I am impressed that Jackie got the design perfect...not sure mine would be that good.

oh and my favourite product at the moment - glimmer paper!
I love that apart from the glimmer paper and First Edition DSP, we have nothing else in Australia, but I have my own sneak peak and sure hope we get that ribbon!

And how about this gorgeous M&M's ornament and Chocies from the States.....hmmmmm all I can say is a huge thank you to Jackie for her amazing gifts - it certainly felt like Christmas in my house last night!!!

I can't wait the next round in the New Year and the anticipation of a gift arriving........better start thinking about what I am going to send......

Customer Thank You Gifts

In the spirit of Christmas, my customers are getting a gift when their orders are delivered.
As mentioned before, I decided the Two Tags Reindeer Treat Holder would be perfect.

Here is the final collection:

Spot the odd one out ????

Ok, so this one isn't Rudolph, but it is special none the less......

I thought, what a great way to show Jodie another way to use the Lace Ribbon Border Punch she has just ordered and has in her bag with this gift!!!! Sure hope she likes it...

Glimmer Christmas Gift Packaging

Glimmer Christmas Gift Packaging - I think I had one of those days today where it all just fell into place and I love the end result.

Got presents for both my Mum and my Mother In Law today and as one is a CD and the other a DS Game, they are similar size, etc. I decided to put into a plain white bag and just add some tags to keep it fresh looking.

The tag can be written on the back and slides out of the envelope

here they are together

Must say, I quite like the Silver with Red wing better, but both still look great.
I used the Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon this time (retired) and of course the Glimmer Paper.
I am surprised at how far one 12x12 sheet actually goes - I still have one full sheet and a bit of each, which is great considering how much I have been using it this last few weeks.

Teachers Gift

I have made many of these great Tote Boxes this holiday season, and here is a slightly different design that I did for one of Laura's teachers - she has two who job share.

I have used Night Of Navy and Pool Party cardstock, with Silver Glimmer Paper for the boot accents.

The co-ordinating Ruffled Ribbon just helps to set it off.

I love this design also as it gives you the same Scallop Envelope width, but a smaller length for those smaller type gifts. And I haven't used one stamp set - just punches and dies....awesome!

Journal Folder Album

We had our last Online Class for the year at Crafters Anonymous on Monday night....I did attend the class but got chatting away and couldn't make my mind up over how to decorate the gorgeous ATC Folder.

In the end I decided on Just Believe and made mine into a Journal Folder Album....Must say I love how it has turned out.

  • Stamp Set: Just Believe
  • Ink: Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Lucky Limeade
  • Papers: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
  • Punches: Modern Label
  • Others: Packing Tags (Non-SU), String (Non SU), Chocolate Chip ribbon (retired), Sponge Daubers
Lucky I made it in Neutral colours as the string is to keep it held shut.....I made the same mistake a long the lines as Theresa and although the ribbon tied up nicely, held nothing in place....LOL, so I added the string and cut back the ribbons to a more Tab style......anyways, love the end result...thank god for accidents I say..

Candy Cane Puzzle Treat

How awesome is this little Candy Cane Puzzle - just perfect for Laura to give to her girlfriends for end of school break-up....hehehe I got to vent some frustrations by breaking the candy canes myself.....yes, it did feel good.

Now by no means did I come up with this clever idea. I cased it from Bev and you can look at it here and see how easy it is. Of course Bev's is heaps prettier than mine, but I went for the very quick easy style and I love how no two are the same.

I can report that they went down a treat (hehehe) and 3 of them even took the time to complete the puzzle!!!
One of them rounded up the empty packs and took home herself - I guess her family will be getting a puzzle each for Christmas as well....
