SQSC # 6

Wow, the week is going a bit quicker this week - it's SQSC Challenge time already!

Here's this week's Sketch

Here's my card
  • Cardstock: Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White, Flirtatious DSP
  • Ink: Wisteria Wonder, Melon Mambo
  • Stamp Set: You're A Gem, Button Button
  • Accessories: Basic Jewels Rhinestones, Decorative Label Punch, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, 3/4" & 1/2" Circle Punches, 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon Pumpkin Pie, 5/8 Satin Ribbon Daffodil Delight (Retired)
I love how this card has turned out and it was the perfect opportunity to try out the Ribbon Frame that Pam Morgan from USA SU Homeoffice showed us at Convention in May.

I know it looks like a stud or big Brad, but that is a Rhinestone beside the You're A Gem saying.

Thanks for looking,

Until next time, Happy Crafting....YCB

LNS 140: Falling For You

This weeks LNS Challenge is titled Falling for You and is an Autumn / Fall theme.
We are not big into celebrating Autumn in Australia and I really don't have that style of stamp sets even though there are a couple in our catalogue.

So here is my card for this week and I hope you like it.

  • Cardstock: Crumb Cake, More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla
  • Ink: Soft Suede, Calypso Coral, More Mustard, Cajun Craze
  • Stamp Set: En Francais, Fabulous Florets
  • Accessories: Scallop Trim Border Punch, 3/16" Corner Punch, Big Shot, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Regal Brads, Twill Tape
I embossed the tags I made to give some texture and I just love stamping on the twill tape - doesn't it come out nice.
The tags were inspired by an ATC I received from the talented Lisa Bullock in the Crafters Anonymous 4 Season's ATC swap we are currently having. Now you see why you should participate in these groups - it really does help broaden your knowledge and skill base......hehehe, I think!

Thanks for looking,

Until next time, Happy Crafting....YCB

Origami Diamond Fold Christmas Card

As promised, here is my Origami Diamond Fold Christmas Card that I made.

Hard to tell, but the fancy lines on the bauble have Clear Embossing Powder with Dazzling Diamonds - I used the VersaMarker to go over the lines and then embossed

This is the right side of the card as you open

showing all sides of the card

 and finally the centre

  • Cardstock: Whisper White, Real Red, Christmas Cocoa DSP (retired)
  • Ink: Real Red
  • Stamp Sets: Tags Til Christmas, Beautiful Season
  • Accessories: Decorative Label Punch, Ornament Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, Heat Gun, Clear Embossing Powder, Dazzling Diamonds, VersaMarker

Tags Til Christmas is a great new set for Christmas and co-ordinates with so many of our punches.

Have you had a go at making one of these yet? they really are easy aren't they.

Thanks for looking,

Until next time, Happy Crafting....YCB

Concertina Fan

What a great class we had at Crafters Anonymous tonight.

The very talent Debi Ryan designed a stunning Concertina Fan for us to make. As usual the array of stunning designs was amazing. Hehehehe and then there was mine!!!!!!

Total craft blockage tonight.....I think it started by choosing Pool Party for the Cardstock.
I really am not warming to this colour, I'm sorry, but I am trying to like it - hence why I chose it tonight.

I wonder why it is that you see all these amazing cards and papercraft projects using a stamp set, like Aviary, and say to yourself "I have to have that one". I did that with Aviary, but am yet to actually make something I am totally happy with.    Never mind, guess that's just another Challenge I have....that, and liking Pool Party!

Thanks for looking,

Until next time, Happy Crafting....YCB

Origami Diamond Fold Card - Get Well

Origami Diamond Fold Card, what a mouth full - but an absolute WOW card.....

Wendy Weixler has a video tutorial on her blog, well worth a look and super easy to make.

  • Cardstock: Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Poppy Parade, In Color (2010-2012) Patterned Stack DSP
  • Ink: Calypso Coral
  • Stamp Set: Button Buddies, Word Play
  • Accessories: Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch,Extra-Large oval Punch, Regals Designer Buttons, 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon (retired)
Isn't that pig just so sweet? The colours haven't really come out too well in this photo, they really aren't as washed out as it looks.

Anyways, because this card is super easy to make, I made a Christmas one as well, but will show that one in another post.

Thanks for looking,

Until next time, Happy Crafting....YCB

SQSC # 5 Challenge Card

I had a go at a male card with the challenge this week.

Here's the sketch

And here's my card

  • Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Island Indigo, Basic Grey
  • Ink: Island Indigo, Black Stazon

I bought the Zoo Review Stamp Set because I felt it would make a great Male go to set.

Showed this to my hubby who replied " Don't know, looks a bit too much" . After telling him it is meant to have this many layers, he told me loved the colours - at least he is honest!.

CA Feature Fortnight

We have a new fortnightly event over at Crafters Anonymous called Feature Fortnight.

How it works is that once a fortnight, we get told of a "Feature" stamp set, punch, die, or colour family and have two weeks to come up with a project using this (or something similar) set.
The first Feature has "Spring" in mind and if we didn't have this set, could use anything which features a bird or relates to Spring.

Now I don't have the Nature Walk Stamp Set, so I used the bird and sentiment out of Elements of Style and the new Chateau Beau DSP and Fabric...keeping in with the "Spring" theme, I decorated an upside wooden U and absolutely love it.....

Just had to show you a close up of my floating bird!

Isn't he just gorgeous, and yes I feel very clever...hehehehe. You will be hard pushed to see it on this photo, but I have him suspended off a piece of acetate tucked under the fabric bow.....way tooooo easy!!!!

Anyway, hope you like it and thanks for looking,

Until next time, Happy Crafting....YCB

Christmas Joy Hangings

Now really is the time to start thinking about those Christmas Projects you saw last year and said you would make for this year!

I made a few of these last year, but this year with the new Die, it is so much easier.

Do you realise it is only 13 1/2 weeks until Christmas Day !!!!!!!

Better make a start on the Christmas cards while we have the stamps out........let me know if you need any help with your projects or if you need to place an order as now is a good time to check your stash and make sure you have enough.

Thanks for looking,

Until next time, Happy Crafting....YCB

September Scrap Page

Woohoo, I'm on a roll....well sort of........I have finished my September page which means I did skip August, but I know what I am doing with that and hope to get it done this week.

LOL...there is nothing wrong with the camera, just a red glow from inside the restaurant - guess it's all the pokies, etc.

Now this then means I will be up to date with everything and get to spend some time on swaps for our upcoming Stampin' Up! Regional's in Brisbane...I can't wait to catch up with some of my CA friends again and meet new ones for the first time.....

Thanks for looking,

Until next time, Happy Crafting....YCB

Cars 2 -- July Scrap Page

I have been very slack with my Scrap Pages for our Crafters Anonymous 12 Months of the Year group.

Pleased to say however that I have finished July, yes, I know that was 2 months ago!

1st of July the kids and I went and saw Cars 2 in 3D. The glasses we were given were all adult sizes, hence being down Laura's nose. But pop the lens out and made a great template for my page and now future ones.

I showed the kids the finished page and both loved it and thought it was cool .... hehehe, at least that's what they said to my face - well, sort of, one took his eye off his laptop for a few seconds and the other off the tv...oh to be a kid again.

Thanks for looking,

Until next time, Happy Crafting....YCB

USWDAF Friend to Friend Swap

WOW, I just love the gift and card I received from my Swap partner Stacey Gilbert in the States.

The glitter over the Holiday Lineup is just sensational.

And how awesome is this Magnet Board - the bottle tops are magnets and the board is actually a piece of metal covered with the new Paisley Petals DSP.

I just love that you get to experience others ideas and creativity.
I can honestly say that I did not like that DSP and had no intention of buying it myself. But guess what? It is now on the list......as is the Holiday Lineup Stamp Set.

I must say that I always end up with more on my wish list when I participate in the swaps.
If you have not involved yourself in one yet and the opportunity comes along, please do join in as it really is great fun and you get to make some great friends along the way.

Thanks for looking,

Until next time, Happy Crafting....YCB

Mini Zig Zag Card

I showed the card I made for my USWDAF Friend to Friend Swap in a previous post.

I decided to have a go at a mini version of it without the scallop edge as it's just a wee bit small for that.... Just hope the talented Julia Leece approves since it is her Tutorial from Crafters Anonymous I am taking liberties with.

How awesome, even if I say so myself......it is the perfect size for the new Petite Pockets Die and the Designer Frames Embossing Folder.

  • Cardstock: Calyspo Coral, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White
  • Ink: Poppy Parade, Lucky Limeade
  • Stamp Set: Pennant Parade
  • Accessories: Just Add Cake DSP, Jewelry Tag Punch, Petite Pennants Builder Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Big Shot, Designer Frames Embossing Folder, Rhinestone Basic Jewels
I am still having fun with all my new products, and yes, my wish list is still long.......I have decided I will play with my new products as I have a pile of retired ones now and I just know you want to see what I have come up with to showcase the great range that is now available for you to order too.

Thanks for looking,

Until next time, Happy Crafting....YCB
