WC9 Create

The Word Challenge at Soul Scrappers was "Create".

I decided to do a Digi Page showing Laura and Pinky Pie with the sleep mask Laura hand made for herself using an old top. Very clever young lady as she designed and hand sewed the whole thing by herself.
As a side note, she has since redone the tie band, again by hand sewing - not because it came away, but I think she found something that looked nicer!

Very proud of my beautiful and talented young Lady......

Project 52 - Week 17 - Dreams

This week I received a gorgeous stamp as a RAK gift from Julie in England (one our our DT members at Soul Scrappers) and just love it that I had to use it this week for my tag.
Teamed up with all things Stampin' Up!, of course and I think it has turned out fabulous.

Thank goodness for a day off mid week as my studies are quite full one and it gave me some craft time - first thing I have made all week! so of course it had to be with my good old favourite Concord Crush....

Petite Pocket Tim Tam Holders

With Mothers Day not too far away, I made some of these Petite Pocket Tim Tam Holders - how cute are they!!
I have seen many versions of these with coffee satchels, etc inside on blogs and pintrest that I can't recall who exactly inspired my version.
I decided to cut the flap off completely to look a bit more streamlined.

I used current In Colors - Lucky Limeade, Indigo Island and Wisteria Wonder.
The stamp is from the new Tea Shoppe set. It is the third stamp on a set of three in a row.
Now to save having to be precise and careful not to ink the imagine beside it, I used to place sticky tape over that I didn't want inked and then remove the tape before I stamp - when I forgot, start again!!!
Now, here's what I do as I only use Clear Mount Stamps now where I can - I use my Craft Sissiors and cut them into three separate stamps so I can use just the cup I want, and they fit back perfectly on a long clear block if I want the three all lined up again.

ANZAC DAY - Lest We Forget

The Australian and New Zealand soldiers who served on the Gallipoli Peninsula created a legend, adding the word ‘Anzac' to our vocabulary, and creating the notion of the Anzac spirit.

Let us pause and remember the ultimate sacrifice these young men gave for not only our Country, but those of others as well. As many men and women in our forces are still doing today.
Lest We Forget.

THC48 - Happy I Do Day

Over at Soul Scrappers, Mary has given us the theme of "Weddings" for our latest Theme Challenge.

Yay - means I now have 3 pages of my Wedding done !!!!!! Yes, 15 years in July........I clearly need more Wedding Challenges - maybe some double page layouts.......hmmmmmmm, and of course some time would be helpful too.

How nice is the new Attic Boutique DSP. I have teamed it up with Pool Party and just love the Seam Binding Ribbon Bow.
Also used the flower from Elements of Style - love that set.

Project 52 - Week 16 - Take Care of yourself

This week is a reminder to myself to take care.

I have just started a 12 month study course - on top of my full-time job, etc, etc.... so I need to stop and smell the roses (so to speak!). So if I blog a little bit less you will know that I have my nose in my books and panodol at hand...hehehe, head probably thinking of my next craft project!

Isn't Regal Rose a gorgeous colour, and it works very well with Blushing Bride.
I am just starting to get the hang of using Bakers Twine and think this is a great way to use it with our pleated ribbon.

Baby Welcome to the World!

I was asked to make two unisex Baby Cards to be sent overseas so they arrive around the time the two newborns do.

I figured that the recent Sale-A-Bration DSP was just perfect for it.

On this first one, I have taken inspiration from a card I saw by Bron Heslop and I have stamped the image from a retired Hostess set onto the DSP and cut around it. Bit fiddy which is why they call it fussy cutting I guess. I think it looks adorable!

Being that the second card is going to another family member, I thought I had better go with a different style - hehehe I'm glad I don't have to choose who gets which! Wow, 2 new grandchildren within weeks - how exciting for this family.

I have used River Rock as the base on this card - so loving the look over Kraft / Crumb Cake. I think it just has a softer look to it.

How nice is this design - you could make up a few in your stash and pop a saying on when needed - really versatile card. And who dosen't love our Glimmer papers!

CC3 Boofle

I just had to join in the lastest craze and get the adorable "Boofle".
Boofle is a Knitted Pup and just the cutest guy ever!

He is the perfect choice for our 3rd Card Challenge at Soul Scrappers - Wild Theme - Any Animal/Reptile/Insect on a card.

Here he is on his Embossed Folder background.

With the Embossing folder turning out great, I decided to sand a couple of places and put on a Fairy I cut out from some patterned paper I had.

Apart from the dodgy photo, aren't they both just so cute!

Altered Clipboard - Daring Adventure

I was asked to make another Clipboard but with purple tones if possible.

I went through my stash and am very happy with the end result.

These clipboards are so very nice when finished and don't really take too long to create.
Rather then leave the photo spot blank, I place a stamped card in the picture frame in case the  recipient of them doesn't want to put a photo in there.

Last week I showed you my entry into the Soul Scrappers Sketch Challenge for a Scrap Page, and here is my entry for a card using the same sketch.

I am really happy with how it turned out.

Project 52 - Week 15 - Hello

I wasn't sure what to do as my tag this week - apart from running out of time! - I really don't know where the days are going at the moment.
So I decided to use the Popping Pastels Technique and see what happened!

Yep - still playing with my Digi program and think the ribbon borders are better then the film I used last week.

SSQ12 Travel

Time for another Soul Scrappers Quest Challenge - This time around Karen sent us a pack of goodies (everyone gets the same) and gave us the Theme of "Travel".

I manged to use everything sent, but found using the DSP piece the hardest with this layout - probably cause I don't "Travel" much...hehehe,
I dream about travelling a lot - maybe when the kids have jobs - let's face it, I don't think they will be leaving home any time soon.

Hope you like my layout and I did enjoy the challenge of creating it.

April Birthday Card Swaps

This month in our Birthday Card Swap saw 2 ladies in our group having their Birthday.

I decided that for each month, I would stick to the same theme but change the colour and alter it slightly so no two cards are the same. The only way I could decide who gets what is to name the cards 1, 2 etc and the first on the list gets the first one, and so forth. Whatever works hey.

Here's Debra's Card in Daffodil Delight

A close up of embossing and pearls

Here's Sarah's Card -in Blushing Bride

So as you can see, the same style used but slightly different layouts and embellishments.
I really love the embossed look with this flower stamp.

Life is Beautiful Bookmark

In this months Stampin' Up! Impressions magazine (exclusive to Demonstrators only) was this gorgeous Corner Bookmark.

I just had to make one or two, and slightly altered mine in giving it a different border edge and used River Rock cardstock.

Aren't they just so elegant looking. I gave one to my Mother In-Law last week for her birthday and she loved it.
Isn't it funny, I have had that stamp set from when it came out and rarely use it, but it works wonderfully on these Bookmarks.

Ferrero Rocher Gift Box

I almost forgot to show you what I made the adults in the family for Easter.

I went looking through the copious amounts of tutorials and casing ideas we all collect, and came across the Ferrero Rocher candy box tutorial by Kim Score. Kim's is for 3 Rocher's and I modified the template (and then modified again...hehehe) to make it just for one.
Again using retired DSP as my family don't really care if it's retired or current. And lets face it, if it's got chocolate in it, I don't either...LOL.

Excuse the reflection in the photo, but most of my pic's are taken at night.

Aren't they just the cutest! I have even make some up with the SAB DSP for Mothers Day - but will show you that later.

Until next time, Happy Crafting....YCB

SC50 You Rock

I hope you all had an enjoyable Easter - I had a great weekend with catching up with family members and also converting some more slides onto my laptop - wow, awesome to see photo's of my Mum and Dad from before I was born. Definitely got some scrap pages coming up with those. Some go back to 1960 !!!!

Anyway I did manage to do this layout for Soul Scrappers Sketch Challenge 50.
I had alot of fun with this one and just love my kids to bits - how cute are they

All I remember about that day 9 years ago is that they got new Sunnies and Nathan was about to start Preschool.

I have used a lot of retired products with some new as I am determined to use up my older stash instead of just adding to it. Plus I need to make room for the new ones coming in a few months.

Happy Easter everyone !!!!!!!

I sure hope the Easter Bunny paid you a visit in the early hours this morning....I know we got a visit in our house! If you are missing some eggs, they are probably at our house.....LOL, and if they were the Jelly Eggs, you may come and collect them - yes, looked like a great idea at the time, but my God, they are soooooo sweet that one is too much. Seriously, just get a spoon and the sugar jar.

Anyway, do you want to see the cute little Mini Candy Dispensers I made my kids????

I saw these on Becky Roberts site and followed the link to Kelleigh's site and bought the template - cause I am nowhere near smart enough to work this one out myself. I did however add a little egg shape tab to open the lid for refills - yes, refills so you can use it more than once.

How cute are they!!!
I put skittles in them as my kids love them - they did get chocolate as well, but I thought this was something they could keep and use again....

Anyways, off to eat my Malteasers  (Thanks Rachael !!) and maybe tidy my craft room ???

Project 52 - Week 14 - Easter

Wow, Easter already - where is the year going?

My tag this week is of course Easter - really wasn't hard to decide this week - just had to decide what to do.
I decided to combine my tag with the Mini Challenge over at Crafters Anonymous and use the Delft Tile Technique.  The front is my attempt at Delft Tiles which didn't quite come out right, but I still love the look.

I really love the fact that this could be two separate tags, which is so unlike me, but shows I am growing in my craft.
While I was trying things for the first time, I also played with my Digital Scrapbook program to get the two pictures on the one page and a funky little film frame - ok, more work needed on that too, but at least I'm having a go hey!

March Birthday Card Swap

A group of us Stampin' Up! Demonstrators have got together (virtual) and formed a Birthday Card Swap group for 2012.

There are 17 in our group, which means when it is our Birthday, we receive 16 Handmade Stampin' Up! cards to help celebrate - How cool is that! I can't wait until October for my Happy Mail to arrive.

The first one to have her Birthday was Chloe last week, and I must say she got some gorgeous cards which she shared on her blog......makes it even more exciting!

Here is the card I made for Chloe.

And a close up of the embossing and pearl bud.

I think the embossing really makes the flower pop and the pearl just adds a bit of elegance.
The scallop circle is actually two of the scalloped half circles from the Petal Cone Bigz Die joined together and the ribbon hides the join. How clever is that!

We have two ladies birthdays this month and I will share them with you once they have both received them.

Easter Swap

Over at Crafters Anonymous, it's time to swap Easter card and gift again.

This year I got Rachael as a swap partner (I was her Secret Sister earlier on in the year) and after a chat online, discovered we have very similar tastes, as you will tell by what we made each other.

Here is my gift from Rachael

And here is what I made and sent to Rachael

Hehehe, as you can see, we both love Purple, and as Rachael loves Cherry Ripes, I have 8 mini ones in her gift box.
Although Rachael's is totally Stampin' Up!, I just had to use my new Marci Easter stamp as she is just so cute.

WC8 - No

When I saw the Word Challenge at Soul Scrappers was "NO", I just knew I had the perfect picture to scrap.

When we were up in Calliope last year on holidays, I was showing my dad how you can take a picture with my new camera facing you and see what you are photographing on the front.........well, I didn't allow for the sunny glare did I!!! hence the comical photo.
I do love the photo though and think it goes perfectly with the word NO - No Idea!

I used one of the frames I won from Shazza for one of the Challenges on Soul Scrappers - just lovely.

If you would like to join Soul Scrappers and join in on some of the great challenges, send me and email and I will get an invite sent to you. There is usually 2 Challenges posted a week and you have 3 weeks to have a go.....a lot of variety to keep you inspired.
