RAK - Gift from Laura

What a lovely gift my daughter Laura made for me yesterday - now, the big question is what is it?
I asked if it was a Lion ? Nathan said it looked like a Sphinx ? but it actually is a Bunny......

 Front detail

Gorgeous back

How clever is Laura, created her own template and everything - just kept coming and asking if I had this Punch, etc,etc......it was going to have some chocolate in it but I didn't have any !!!! yeah, ok, I did, but it was a big block!

I just love that she is so creative and giving, and actually, I may have to start getting her to teach me things!

Christmas in July 2012

For those that participate in Christmas in July functions, this one is for you.

One of the groups my Mum is in has a Dinner every year.
Last year I gave them a stamped on candle and some gift tags to use as their door prize raffle.

Here is what I have made for them this year

I used last years Christmas DSP which I love - had a sneak peak of this years coming and it is Fabulous!

The Rosettes are so easy with the Simply Scored Tool - just score and fold and stick together.
This tree took me around 1 1/2 - 2 hours from start to finish - hehehe have to guess as I took the dog for a walk in that time!

The gift tags I cased off Pinterest and am not sure who the original creator is.

Lace Ribbon Border Cards

I love making the Lace Ribbon Border Punch cards.

I decided to make one using the Promotional Reason To Smile Stamp Set - only one week to go if you still haven't got it!

As you can see, I got carried away and made an additional 3 using other stamp sets.

I went for two Bright colours - my old favourite Rich Razzleberry and Pumpkin Pie.

 The set of four together

Reason to Smile  flower

Apothecary Art

I must say I am impressed with how well the 4 look together.

Project 52 - Week 24 - Coffee, Week 25 - Stay

Two tags today - Yay, back up to date! I have only done the fronts as I got to thinking that if I put them in an album, you will only see the front anyway...plus they are quicker to make...hehehe.

Week 24 - Coffee

With these colder nights and studying, I am enjoying a coffee with my studying - not sure if it's to stay warm or to keep awake.

Another of those products I had to have - finally got to use my big Spice Cake Designer Buttons.

Week 25 - Stay
I am loving the French Foliage Stamp Set - it was a set I put off buying but am so glad I caved in and got it.
Maybe next year I can work on my will power!

I must admit I love this tag - impressed myself with it...hehehe.

June Birthday Card Swap

We only had the one birthday for our swap this month.

Here's the card I made Rochelle

I love the look that the pleated ribbon gives, certainly beats getting the sewing machine out to achieve it.

Soul Scrappers Card Swap - Friendship

The theme for this round's card swap was Friendship.

I decided to use the Twitterpatted DSP and Lucky Limeade for the basis of my card.
I just love the way it turned out.

I never tire of card swaps as you do get a great range back and get inspiration and ideas that you may not have come across before or thought of yourself.

WC11 Fun Times

Mary's Word Challenge was to have a two word title with Time in it - ie: Nap Time, Coffee Time, etc.

I made mine a plural title as Fun Time just didn't seem right.

Love this photo of my MIL and two kids 11 years ago.
Don't you just love looking at old photo's and discussing what was happening that day! it really does bring back memories.

Stay Diamond Fold Card

No tag this week as my crafting time has been about making some cards.

Here is the card I finished last night - a Diamond Fold Card that I cased from Brenda Rennie who kindly sent instructions with her swap card for our Team Unconvention Swap.

I must say that the Simply Scored Tool and Diagonal Score Plate make this card just so easy to create - I can see me making more of these for sure - stunning.

Reason To Smile Bookmarks

I got my inspiration for these bookmarks from Robin Messenheimer, and the saying from another that I must apologise as I can't find a link but loved the saying.

I had made these bookmarks all the same with the saying on them and then decided to alter one each with the Gerbra flower from the Exclusive set available only this month.
One set in Island Indigo and one set in Wisteria Wonder.

These are this month's thank you for orders placed with me - so get in quick and if you buy or qualify for the Reason To Smile stamp set ( $125.00 order), then you will get the Gerber Bookmark - just let me know the colour you want it in.

Take Care of Yourself Notecard

Here's a little notecard I made using the new Houndstooth Embossing Folder and one of the flowers my mum crotched for me.

Shelli showed us how to use this technique at last year's convention - I didn't make it to this year's.
This is an odd size piece of cardstock I had but turned into a lovely size card to pop with some flowers / box of chocies, etc to cheer up a friend not feeling well.

How well does that flower match the Baja Breeze cardstock - amazing, and the Pool Party brad just adds to the flower. The sentiment is from a retired set.

Male Birthday Cards

With hubby's birthday in June (just gone) and my fathers in July, I decided to make two cards at the same time - why not cause that way it's done right......

I used the retired Star Punch with my Glimmer Paper and did a collage using the stamps from the Extreme Elements set.

Both cards together

Card I gave Rob - always keep your favourite, right!

The sentiment is from Grunge Rock and co-ordinates so well with the Extreme Elements set.
The main card colour is Island Indigo - I think I have said before it is my colour after Concord Crush!

If you have teenage sons / nephews, etc, these are two great sets to own - and if we go off the USA retired list, we may not see them in our next Catalogue in September. So if you like them and haven't got them off your wish list yet, I think now may be a great time to get them - remember this month, $ 125.00 gets you the Reason To Smile stamp set for free (one for the girls!). June only !!

CUCC4 - Family

For this Challenge, we had to use Banners, Buttons and Twine.

When I started this, I had a totally different picture in my mind to use, but when I started to look for that photo, I came across this one and decided that would be better!
I stuck to a Vanilla and Black theme for a more vintage look - well the photo is from 1967!
I did however sneak in a couple of grey buttons, just cause I can....hehehe....and the flowers my mother crotched for me with a heap of others.

I really love how it turned out. I used last years DSP and popped some pearls onto the flower buttons on the banner.

Project 52 - Week 23 - Scrapbook Expo

I went to the 2012 Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo today....enjoyed myself (alone time) as I always do each year.  Bought too much - tell myself each year only buy what you need.....hehehe, one day I may just listen to myself! Maybe if I didn't walk around the aisles 3 times I may have saved some money. I can only imagine what I would have come home with if Laura came with me - she is turning into a fabulous crafter and will be surpassing me in no time.
Caught up with a couple of girlfriends by chance which was great! Yes Narelle, I bought some copic's so you can teach me!!!!

Anyway, just had to use this particular stamp I bought and you will see why it was perfect for this weeks tag

Anyway,, had a fabulous time and I will enjoy creating with my new purchases and showing you the outcome.

Off to dinner tonight for hubby's birthday so had better get off here or it shall be a quite evening...hehehe.

Tea Bag / Tim Tam Holder

Now how nice would this be to receive when you are feeling a bit down in the dumps?

A cuppa and a Tim Tam - what more could you ask for (except maybe a nice coffee!).
I think this would be a great gift to give someone to let them know you care.
How very Australian! I have an overseas friend in mind that I think I will give one of these to.

Flower Garden

I used the Flower Garden Embossing Folder for a different look on this card.
The folder was available in the Summer Mini, so hopefully it will reappear in our new Catalogue in September.

This is not an original idea as I saw it used on a card on Pintrest but I can't find it again to give credit to and I didn't pin it myself - remember thinking what a good idea - let me know if you know who did it and I will link it back.

I have used four of the 2011-2012 In Colors and Whisper White.
I wasn't sure if I should make the colour strips the same length or step them, so clearly I decided to step them but am not totally happy with it. Must say though that it is better looking IRL.

Anyway, it is a great technique and one that you could use on most embossing folders.

Non-Convention Swaps

Stampin' Up! had their Annual South Pacific Convention in Canberra last week.
As I was unable to attend this year, I thought I'd run a couple of Non-Convention Swaps - one with Facebook Friends and the other within our SU Inkcrebiles Team.
As everyone knows, it is such great fun swapping cards and 3 items with everyone. I absolutely love all the different ideas you get and samples of stamps you don't own. I came home last year with the most fabulous 40 swaps. For me, 40 gives a great range without being swamped or overwhelmed.

Here is the first swap which was for our Incredible Team swap.

And all you need to do is trim the sides and you have a fantastic card front -

How cool does that look! Ok, I'm bias as I made it, but I did want to show you how what may seem like a pretty average card swap to you can turn out so stunning with a bit of thought and input from yourself.
Not that I consider my swap to be average....just sayin'........

Here is my second swap I made for my Facebook Friends group.

I just love that ribbon! I used the embossing powders on both swaps and can tell you I had a very hard task deciding which swaps to give each group. In the end I decided the first one I made was the Team one and the second the FB group one.

Project 52 - Week 22 - Winter

So as promised, here is this weeks tag.

Being the beginning of Winter, what a great choice for this week!!!!
And how cute is Ice Skating Marci......

Soft Suede and Pool Party work very well together......

Now, I am not going to promise a tag for next week.......we have the Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo on and we all know I go to it every year! (even though it is the same weekend as hubby's birthday!!!).
So with that in mind, maybe you can make a tag for me..hehehe.

Marina Mist Engagement Card

I was asked to make an Engagement Card and decided to use a style that I have seen a few times and had yet to try. I took my inspiration from Linda and here is what I came up with.

I must admit to not having any Wedding / Engagement specific stamps so used the one out of the A Word for You set.
I used Marina Mist Cardstock and DSP from Beau Chateau.
The embossing is a little bit tricky at first, but once you work it out a breeze (hehehe...most times!).

Now to work on a Wedding Card as they are getting married in November!
