Soul Scrappers Design Team

Wow....how excited am I !!!!!!

You know I join in on the Soul Scrappers challenges all the time - yes I know, a wee bit behind on my tags.....hmmmmm.....anyways, I have been added as one of the Design Team Members!!

I shall be hosting the new "Stampin' Up! Card Challenge", how cool is that!

Each month I will of course post my card here, but would love it if you could join in as well - easy peasy - just look to the left and join our group - heaps of different challenges (as you know) both scrapbooking and cards and also the ATC swaps too. Definitely something for everyone and all levels, and we have members from Australia, USA, Canada and England too.

My first challenge is in about 3 weeks so I hope to see you all there to support me....think I will need it.
You can use current and YES retired Stampin' Up! products, hehehe and seeing as a bit of it only has 4 weeks left, my stash is about to get bigger!

Hope to see you there soon.

Until next time, Happy Crafting....YCB

July Birthday Card Swap

End of July already !!!!! where is the year going?

We had two birthday's in our swap club this month, so I decided to make the same card.

Had a play with the Simply Scored Tool and instead of making a rosette - thought I'd give the card a frill look. Went for some nice bright colours as well - sure going to miss the popping of Poppy Parade when it retires soon. Hope the girls like it.

VIP Stamper Rewards - coming soon

So with the new catalogue coming out in a month, I thought I would introduce my VIP Stamper Rewards club - as of August 1st.

How does it work?
For every $100 (before P&H) that you order from me, I will mark off one square.
Once 10 squares have been marked off, you can pick any stamp set that you wish and you will get it for FREE with your next order that you place.

It is my personal way of thanking you for having me as your Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.
This is something I am doing myself and as such, is only valid with myself.

So the good news is that it that anything you order from the retiring list starts you on your way to your free stamp set! Gotta love that!

Swap with Theresa

OK -so I have been busy showing you what I have been creating that I have forgotten to show you the swap that Theresa made me.

You may remember in May we had a challenge to make something using the KC plastic holder that we both love. Now I did show you what I created and now it's time to see the amazing album that I got back.

All in the plastic holder

Album with bookmarks either side

Album open

Matching card

A second card for good measure

How cool is the Halloween card - just love it - by the way, I put the pink dsp there as you don't need to see the message written.

Just love it all, and I must say it was a challenge coming up with this swap for both of us.
An amazing gift by a busy talented friend. I will try to post my swaps sooner next time!

Reason To Smile Becky Roberts Bags

I have been busy this week making some pink and blue Becky Roberts bags for an order I was given.
I was asked to make pink and blue to be used for Birthdays.

I have used the Reason To Smile stamp - yes, too late to get it now! I love this flower and how good do they look on these bags!
These are the pink ones

These are the blue ones

 Close up of layered flower

Now, it took me a week to make 8 of these - I have another order for 60 white ones with a specific design and matching place cards and 3x3 thank you notes and envelopes.
Busy, much !!!!! At least I have 3 months to get them made by.......should just make it in time!

Who knows, maybe I can make a few extra for swaps at Regionals in November!

Fathers Day Card / Bookmark

Ok, so I had a play with the Diagonal Score plate ....yes, not a fantastic effort, but I am going to say it gives it character...LOL...it was my first try after seeing sooo many gorgeous cards with this technique. Needless to say I can not see myself doing this again for a while!

With the addition of the bookmark, Dad gets a card and a gift!

Happy Birthday Card

Here's the Birthday Card I made for my Aunt's birthday in 2 weeks - can't believe I actually have the card and gift already sorted....

I made the flower using the Twitterpated DSP - you may recall I used the same flower on the Thanks A Bunch altered container a few weeks back. Just love how the flower looks so it is fast becoming a favourite of mine to make.

ATC - Circus

I am just finishing off my latest ATC - Chocolate - yep, couldn't not do that one right!, and I realised that I hadn't shown you the one I made last round.

So here is my Circus themed ATC.

There really are some very talented ladies that join in the swap and I would show you them but when I get them back I am ohhing and ahhing and then I look at mine and feel not so ooh and ahh....LOL, but I do enjoy making them and they are a challenge that I feel (hope) I am getting better at.

Contempo Christmas Card Sets

I just love the Contempo Christmas Stamp Set, so when I saw these sets on another blog I just knew I had to case it. I really do have to apologise as I can not recall who's blog it is on, but if you know, please let me know so I can put a link back to it.

I have used Cherry Cobbler and Lucky Limeade - perfect for Christmas!

And while I was at it, I made some Christmas Note Cards that were inspired by Becky Roberts who makes these cute cards up all the time.

Now you can stll get this stamp set, but I'm not too sure for how much longer as it may or may not be in the new catalogue, so let me know if you want to buy one.

The DSP used is from my retired stash - yes I am starting to use it up, because let me tell you, you are going to LOVE the holiday DSP and I can't wait to order some and show you.

Accordion Pouch Card Holder

So here is another idea using one 12x12 DSP sheet.
I used the instructions provided by Chiaki Haverstick on her website.

This time, we also use 4 Note Cards - pack of 20 including envelopes is just $ 9.50 + P&H - so it makes it super fast to create.

I made a pink set for my Aunt's Birthday in a coupe of weeks, and also a blue set.

Blue set with 4 note cards

Pink set with 4 note cards

Because our DSP is double sided, you get two different styles and colours.
I think they are awesome and I will be making these again.

The Chrysanthemum flower is by the talented Tanya Bell and you can see her tutorial here.
I think I need to make a few more to get them looking as nice as Tanya's.

Nesting Boxes

With the new catalogue just a round the corner, I started to look at tutorials on projects using one sheet of 12x12 DSP as I need to make room for the new suites.
I didn't want to do the one sheet wonder thing, so I got out my Simply Scored Scoring Tool ( # 122334 $55.95 + P&H) and the new Simply Scored Diagonal Plate ( #125586  $20.95 + P&H) and decided to have a play.

How cute are these nesting boxes - and ultra easy with the Diagonal Plate!

I must admit I am not happy with the size of the bases as they are a bit too sloppy for my liking, so I will be looking at the measurements used and will rejig to get them more flush.

As the name suggests, they nest inside one another until you are ready to use them.
I haven't made a tag to go with them, but you could easily make a tag and a card to give as a set with the left over DSP.

Project 52 - Week 27 - Christmas In July

In the spirit of Christmas in July, I have been making Christmas items which I will show you over the next few weeks.

But today is this weeks tag

You would have seen the gift tag a few posts back, but I just love it so made one into a tag for my project.

I think this way would make a great bag tag for Christmas gifts.

Thanks A Bunch

I had altered another container using Twitterpated DSP and my markers on the stamp to create this gorgeous container and notelet set.

And the top of the lid

I really do love the pleated ribbon - how awesome does that look to create a rosette around the circle cardstock. The bud is one of the Glimmer Brads - another must have!

Just have to decide whether to get another spool of each of the four ribbons before the mini ends this month - will not be available after then.

CCC5 - Got Love?

Karen had us make a card for the man in our life for this challenge.

Rob and I got married 15 years ago today.......a cliche I know, but it really doesn't feel that long ago.

So, with that in mind, it was a no brainer to make an Anniversary card and matching gift holder.

I decided to decorate a canister to match the card and filled with Rob's favourite chocolate.
Just love that Twitterpated DSP.

Fabulous Florets Cards

I decided to have a play with my Fabulous Florets stamp set. I really love the flower in this set and don't use it nearly as often as I could.

I made this one using Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla.

The flower is embossed and a touch of glitter in the buds.

This one is using Tangerine Tango and Very Vanilla and I have distressed this just a bit.

I purposely left a sentiment off the front so they could be used for any occasion.
I think either would make a lovely Sympathy Card.

SC53 Smile

This is my entry for the latest Soul Scrappers Sketch Challenge.

I have used one of the full sheets of DSP from the new Attic Boutique range in the current mini catalogue and two of the buttons from the Twitterpated Suite as embellishments. Must say it's not my usual style with all the flowers, however, I do love how it has turned out.

The current Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue ends 31st July, so let me know if there is anything you want to order so you don't miss out.

Project 52 - Week 26 - Pathways

I had this week off with the kids - not a great start to the week I must say!
It didn't start well with my laptop crashing!!!!! Bugger was one of the words that come to mind.
At least all my craft work was backed up.....Anyway, a new laptop and less money in the bank thanks, but at least everything on the old hard drive was able to be transferred to the new one. Now just finding it all and working out the new computer and everything back to normal.
Such a  cold, wet miserable week to be at home - I did manage to get a fair amount of crafting done but little else!

Here is my tag, and yes, until I posted on the Soul Scrappers site, I didn't even realise I had a spelling mistake....aghhhhhh, but, that was my week, so be it!
