SS Christmas Card Swap 2012

Soul Scrappers Christmas Card Swap had 9 of us swapping Christmas Cards - of course...hehehe.

I love when you send all your swaps off and then you get them all back in the mail - it's so exciting seeing what everyone has created.
I have been in a few of these over the years and must say that this one has been the best of them all.
Each of the cards have really been though about and put together nicely....here is the card I made.

I had fun making this one and intend to pop it on a bag for Christmas Giving - great way to use up some retired DSP.
You could sponge around the Elves shoes to add some depth if you wanted.

I have two swaps left for the year - Secret Santa (Soul Scrappers Design Team) and the Mystery Shoebox for ESAD - both going in the post today!!!! Then I get to sit back and relax for a bit....LOL, well maybe for a week.
I can't wait to show you what I created for my Mystery Shoebox swapper! must say I love it all - it's all based around the International Bazaar DSP - was a great challenge. Even more excited to see what I get.

SU Heartfelt Event 2012 Make & Takes

We had 4 great Make & Takes this year to make at our leisure - now normally I don't get to make these as I am too busy chatting and catching up on the gossip that goes around, but this year, due to the more relaxed feel and the ability to move around and do as you like, I got the whole 4 made. (yay me!!!)

Now bare in mind I did do them at the event and as such, the stamping is a bit dodgy!

One in A Million Notebook
(yes the One is covered, and can you tell I don't do flowers well..hehehe)

 Above & Beyond Scrapbook Page
(8 x 8)
Photo goes on left hand side

Two Tags Box & 4 Cards

Clockworks Notecards
(4 Notecards & Envelopes and we made the Vellum Envelope....
hehehe, another moment with measurements! fixed that when I got home)

Love the notebook and Mr C (Laura's teacher) will be getting one of these for Christmas!
And the Two Tags Box will be arriving at a few of my Aunts places this year as well!

Ruth Clarke showed us how to make this gorgeous Mini Album, so I will attempt this over the next few weeks with a special friend in mind who I know will love it.

SU Heartfelt Event 2012

Wow - what a great new format for our Annual Brisbane Event - I absolutely loved it !!!!!

The atmosphere was so friendly and relaxing - we had 4 classes with Sophie from Head Office and 3  talented Demo's (Kirsty, Liz & Ruth) showing use all how to make great projects and inspire us with their wisdom and talents.......just loved Kirsty Brown's class on Bows and packaging.

Here is my first attempt at her Big Tail Bow - yes, just had to make one while fresh in my mind!

I can see me making more of these - they are just gorgeous.......

Also had two booths with Demo's showing techniques and then the Playground - how much fun was that!!!

Here is the lovely Anna Wheaton being her helpful self on the Brayer Playground

And here is Tia showing how to use the Clear Mount Perfectly Placed Guides and Stampin Pierce Mat

I even made all four of my Make & Take's.......they are all great and I will be making more of them for Christmas presents - will show you those later.

I am so looking forward to Convention next year now, so happy it is in Brisbane - yay for us Brissie girls - means we save some money to go towards Memento Mall !!!!!

Amazing Race - Detour 3 - Bathtime

Oops, you got lost on your way from Africa!! Scrap a layout with either some map paper or arrows to get you going in the right direction again.

No maps, but plenty of arrows!!

Mawh - my two little angels....LOL, just love looking back at photo's of the kids so little!

I can't believe we have scrapped 11 pages now and only have 1 more left!!!!!! guess that means I can get stuck into my Christmas cards now.

SUCC4 - Side Step Cards

That time again, it seems to come around so quickly!

This time round, I thought I would challenge everyone to make a Side Step Card - I have provided 3 for inspiration and some instructions - LOL, I use that word loosely! So pop on over to Soul Scrappers and join in.

The first is a card inspired by Sally-Ann Haywood, just loved it when I saw it.

This second one is an edited version I call my "Fifty Shades Of Santa's Drawers" - yes, I'm in the middle of the third novel!

And this last one is a friendship one to show other ways to create.

A lot of ladies have made these for Baby Shower cards and they do come up well - have a go and join in the challenge, I'd love to see what you create! Maybe a Fifty Shades one!

SSQ14 - Holy Batman

The idea of the Soul Scrappers Quest Challenge is that you use all or most of the items supplied - the same items posted to 20 different people who sign up for it.
It really is great seeing all the different layouts and off the page items everyone comes up with.

This is my entry for the latest round:

I managed to use all the pieces supplied - I stamped both the tree trunk and the leaves of it as this was an extra request for the challenge, and only added my background DSP, the flower and of course the photo.
Pretty happy with the end result.

Amazing Race - Stop 7 - Africa

So stop 7 of our Amazing Race is Africa.

I have been going to scrap this photo for a while now, so here's the perfect page to do it with.

The criteria to be include for Africa:

1. Fabric - Seam Binding Ribbon
2. Happy photo - All in car starting road trip
3. Song Lyrics for title or subtitle - We are Family

I can't help but smile every time I see this photo - really was a fun drive - if not boring!
This I think this was around 4 hours into a 7 hour drive.

Santa's Elves Pants

With all the Christmas cards and Secret Santa items I have been making this pass month, I decided to make something fun just for the sake of it!
I have to say straight up that I can not remember who's blog I saw this on, but it is so easy that you don't need a tutorial which is why I didn't save a link.
I have swapped their jelly bean legs for sherbet sticks - which are a favourite in our house at this time.

Aren't they just sooooo cute - would make a nice tree ornament for those with little kids coming round on Christmas day.

CC10 Christmas Tags Cards

Our Card Challenge with Jen at Souls Scrappers is all about tags this time.

I made two entries for this using the same tag

Love them both - another two cards made ready to give away - challenges this time of year are great for making your Christmas Cards and ensure you come up with a variety of designs.

WC16 - STILL a Clown

Mary's  Word Challenge at Soul Scrappers this time is using the word "STILL" in our title.

I scrapped Nathan from Grade 1 when his class put on a Circus Show - hard to believe it was 10 years ago!

Think he must of thought he was a monster not a clown! He did have a bit of trouble walking in dad's shoes!

Amazing Race Stop 6 - Peru

This stop on our Amazing Race, we touched down in beautiful Peru!!!!

Criteria is:

  1. One Butterfly
  2. White wash or other medium over patterned paper or embellishment
  3. Distressing

I have used 3 butterflies from the new Papillon Potpourri set, and coordinating punch, have the white paint splashed over my retired DSP and have distressed the sides on both the flag banner and the photo!

I can't believe this photo was taken over 6 years ago - my gorgeous girl and her beloved Pinky Pie (she was 6 and he was 3), I reckon he will be the ring bearer at her wedding!

We only have 3 more stops until our Amazing Race is done - I have really enjoyed this journey and will be a bit sad when it's all over!
